Swansea Rotherham prediction 2024-04-13

Swansea vs Rotherham prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-04-12 14:00.
[p]A 3-0 midweek triumph over Stoke City has moved Swansea City seven points clear of the Championship relegation zone, and although that isn’t yet a big enough cushion to guarantee survival, a place in England’s second tier for a seventh straight season is almost assured with four matches left of the current campaign. One of them comes against Rotherham, with the Swans afforded the opportunity to earn just their second double in 2023/24, having won December’s reverse fixture 2-1. [/p]

[p]That might be easier said than done as only Queens Park Rangers and Rotherham (both ten) have lost more home games in the division this term than Swansea’s nine. An inability to mount a comeback after conceding first has been a big factor behind that, with the Swans failing to win any game at the Swansea.com Stadium when they’ve allowed the opposition to open the scoring (D3, L7). Their favourable H2H record may be a source of inspiration at least, with the Swans unbeaten in the last six encounters (W4, D2). [/p]

[p]It was another miserable away day for Rotherham as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday, stretching their winless run on the road to a dismaying 37 games in all competitions (D11, L26). At The Hawthorns, they had some grounds for grievance as Lee Peltier wrongly had a penalty awarded against him for handball, but that still doesn’t excuse the fact that the Millers have now gone four matches on their travels without scoring. [/p]

[p]A fifth successive away blank would represent the South Yorkshire club’s worst sequence since May 2021, while there are also issues at the other end, having let in an eye-watering 83 league goals this term. It may be some consolation that they probably won’t break the record for most goals conceded in the division since the Football League rebrand in 2004, because cruelly, the record of 98 is held by the Rotherham side of 2016/17! [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Liam Cullen has netted in two of Swansea’s last three home games and has got the opener in his last four scoring appearances – all of which ended in clean-sheet victories. Hoping to spur the visitors on, Sebastian Revan was involved in both of Rotherham’s goals during their 2-1 victory over Millwall earlier this month. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Rotherham have conceded the opener inside 25 minutes in their last four away matches. [/p]
