Rennes Toulouse prediction 2024-04-13

Rennes vs Toulouse prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-04-12 19:00.
[p]Saturday’s Ligue 1 action comes to a close at the home of Rennes as the hosts look to end a shocking run of three straight defeats ‘to nil’ which saw them exit the Coupe de France and start to lag behind in the race for Europe. Four points separate Rennes from the top-six at the beginning of this round, although with 18 points left to play for, a sharp uptick in form could yet see them book their spot in next season’s continental competitions.[/p]

[p]A visit from Toulouse could be ideal in terms of a Rennes revival, as they have beaten no side more often than them in league action since the turn of the century (W18, D9, L11). That 47% H2H win rate is complemented by Rennes’ average of two scored goals per match across the seven home games since Julien StĂ©phan’s managerial return (W5, L2), whilst he has only faced one side more often than Toulouse (W2, D3) without defeat.[/p]

[p]Currently six points behind Rennes, a late push for Europe seems unlikely for Toulouse despite their recent uptick in form (W1, D1). In fact, Toulouse have already achieved 17 points in 2024 (W6, D1, L4) which is two more than they did during the first half of the season (W2, D8, L7) and in six fewer games. Even so, one of those points from the first half of the campaign did come in a 0-0 draw against Rennes.[/p]

[p]Hardly the image of consistency on their travels, Toulouse have alternated between victories and defeats across their previous seven competitive away games (W4, L3). Given that two of those defeats contributed to their demise in both European and domestic cup competitions, hopes will be high that they can use their new found focus to improve on what is already a respectable away league record against top-half opposition (W2, D3, L2). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Currently on 13 competitive goals for the season, Rennes stalwart Benjamin Bourigeaud hasn’t scored more goals against any other side than his five from ten personal H2Hs against Toulouse. For the visitors, Vincent Sierro struck with typical Swiss precision with three goals across his last three club appearances, doubling his league tally for the season in the process. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Toulouse are unbeaten in 56% of their league games in which they began as pre-match outsiders (W4, D6, L8). [/p]
