Sassuolo AC Milan prediction 2024-04-14

Sassuolo vs AC Milan prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-04-13 13:00.
[p]It’s really becoming a case of now or never for Sassuolo as they fight Serie A relegation this season and look to extend their 11-year Italian top-flight stay. A run of three matches without a win (D2, L1), the latest outing of which saw them drop two valuable points against rock-bottom Salernitana (1-1), leaves Davide Ballardini’s men stranded in the bottom three and two points from safety ahead of this weekend’s action. [/p]

[p]After winning just four home league games this term (D4, L7) and conceding 26 goals in the process – a figure only eclipsed by Salernitana prior to this round – a visit from AC Milan hardly looks like the ideal opportunity for Sassuolo to give their survival bid a much-needed boost. That’s also partly due to the fact that the Green and Blacks have failed to triumph in any of the last seven H2Hs at Mapei Stadium (D1, L6), while they also fell to a 1-0 defeat in this campaign’s reverse fixture. [/p]

[p]The stage is well and truly set then for Milan to extend their winning league run in this clash – a streak which reached five consecutive matches when they downed Lecce 3-0 last time out in Serie A action. It’s the Rossoneri’s longest such sequence in a single season since finishing 2021/22 by clinching the title with six victories – the last of which saw them win 3-0 at this venue – and as such, they make the trip south full of confidence. [/p]

[p]That said, a narrow 1-0 loss to Roma in their UEFA Europa League quarter-final first leg on Thursday may have shaken confidence slightly, and with this match coming before the second leg, manager Stefano Pioli may rest key players here with a top three spot looking almost assured already. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Sassuolo’s Andrea Pinamonti will look to add to his nine league goals this season in this encounter, with five of them arriving before the 15th minute. Meanwhile, Milan’s Christian Pulisic has been in fine form recently, netting three times across his last four Serie A outings – while he also struck the winner in the reverse H2H. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: A league-high eight of Milan’s 16 away Serie A matches this campaign saw both teams score. [/p]
