AS Roma Bologna prediction 2024-04-22

AS Roma vs Bologna prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-04-21 16:30.
[p]Both Roma and Bologna received a huge boost this week as performances of Italian sides in Europe mean that Serie A will claim an extra Champions League spot for this season. These two sides currently occupy fifth and fourth spot respectively, yet the hosts can’t take their foot off the gas just yet with just a four-point buffer between them and Atalanta in sixth coming into the round.  [/p]

[p]Roma should be full of confidence though after stringing together a seven-game unbeaten league run (W5, D2), while they saw off AC Milan on Thursday in the Europa League with a 3-1 aggregate win. That does of course mean that Roma have had less time than their visitors to prepare for this contest, but after suffering just one defeat across their last nine home league H2Hs (W6, D2), history looks to be on their side at this venue.  [/p]

[p]With eight points separating Bologna from sixth, they can start to get excited about playing in Europe’s premier competition for the first time since reaching the preliminary round way back in 1964/65. The Red and Blues are unbeaten in four league games, with shutouts in each, but they’ve been held to goalless draws against sides both starting this round in the bottom ten most recently, and they now face the prospect of going three league games without a goal for the first time since September. [/p]

[p]Ending that goal drought could help Bologna on their way to a bit of history as not since the 1966/67 campaign have they completed a league double over Roma, though the 2-0 win in the reserve means they could change that here. Additionally, the capital side are the team that Bologna have beaten more than any other across their Serie A history (W52, D45, L54).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Paulo Dybala netted Roma’s crucial second goal in Thursday’s 2-1 win, and he’s also registered nine goal contributions (G7, A2) in his last 13 league H2Hs. Alexis Saelemaekers scored and assisted in Bologna’s last league win (3-0 vs Salernitana), but it’s his conduct that’s catching attention as he picked up a yellow card in his last appearance, in the last H2H, and is returning here from suspension for an accumulation of bookings. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Five of Roma’s last six competitive matches have produced one goal or fewer. [/p]
