Huddersfield Birmingham prediction 2024-04-27

Huddersfield vs Birmingham prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-04-26 14:00.
[p]Championship matches don’t come much more important than this, as Huddersfield welcome Birmingham to the John Smith’s Stadium with both sides currently sitting in the relegation zone. The Terriers sit two points behind their visitors having won just once in their last ten matches (D4, L5), with confidence dented even further by conceding 4+ goals for the ninth time this season as they were hammered 4-0 by Swansea last week.[/p]

[p]The home faithful will be understandably nervous after that performance, but can take some solace in the fact that four of their last five wins came at home. Anything but three points here could render their final game of the season immaterial, and with their final outing of the campaign being a trip to automatic promotion chasers Ipswich, they can’t afford to leave anything to chance.[/p]

[p]Birmingham head into the penultimate round of the season hoping they don’t come to regret failing to beat already-relegated Rotherham last week. While a goalless draw made it two unbeaten for Gary Rowett’s men (W1, D1), they too are in desperate need of points ahead of a clash with top-six opposition on the final day (Norwich).[/p]

[p]The Blues would love nothing more than heading home to St Andrew’s for their final game against Norwich next week with survival within reach, but they’ll have to overcome a poor return of just one win from their last 11 away games against Yorkshire teams to do so (D5, L5). Birmingham may just have the psychological edge however, having comprehensively won the reverse fixture 4-1 in October – a result which took them into the top-ten at the time![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Huddersfield will need their top-scorer this season in defender Michał Helik to do a job at both ends of the field, since all nine of his goals this campaign have served as his team’s opener. One of those came when these two met earlier this season, but it was Birmginham’s Koji Miyoshi with the decisive goal that day, contributing to him netting the game winner four times this season. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Both teams have scored in eight of the last 11 H2Hs.[/p]
