Preston Leicester prediction 2024-04-29

Preston vs Leicester prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-04-28 19:00.
[p]Three defeats on the spin have brought a miserable end to Preston’s play-off hopes, and with the Lilywhites now unable to reach the top six, they’re at least certain of a tenth consecutive season in the Championship. Ryan Lowe’s side have been kept scoreless in all three of those defeats, making it no goals in five of the last six, and with that run being part of 14 league games in which they’ve failed to score this season, it’s little surprise their play-off push has faltered.[/p]

[p]The prospects of a response in their last home game of the season here would seem realistic as North End haven’t lost four in a row since December 2019, going scoreless then too. But given Preston have failed to win any of their last four league games against Monday’s opponents Leicester (D1, L3), they must be left fearing a repeat of history here.[/p]

[p]The Foxes thumped Southampton 5-0 at home on Tuesday night to ensure that regardless of what happened elsewhere over the weekend, they’d remain top heading to Deepdale. The deal was sweetened for City on Friday night, as Leeds’ failure to win at QPR sealed their immediate return to the Premier League, but with the title and a potential 100-pont haul still to play for, don’t expect a let-up.[/p]

[p]Enzo Maresca’s side could equal a club record at Deepdale, with the club only ever winning more away league games than their 13 so far in two seasons – 2008/09 & 2013/14 (both 14). Uncharacteristically, they’ve lost their last two on the road without scoring, and six of their ten league defeats to date have come away, though they haven’t lost in six H2Hs at Deepdale (W2, D4), which should boost belief that club record-equalling victory is on the cards.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: All eight of the goals scored by Preston’s Milutin Osmajić this season have come at Deepdale and after half-time. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall grabbed another assist against Southampton to take his goal involvements for the season up to 26 (G12, A14). That includes two goals in the reverse fixture, and he has won all three of his personal H2Hs with North End.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Across the last six league matches between this pair at Deepdale, neither side has scored more than one goal in a single game.[/p]
