Swansea Millwall prediction 2024-05-04

Swansea vs Millwall prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-05-03 11:30.
[p]Club captain Matt Grimes converted a penalty on his 300th appearance as Swansea held play-off hopefuls Norwich City 2-2 last Saturday. That extended their unbeaten league run to four matches (W3, D1), and although they can’t better their current 13th-place position in this final round, boss Luke Williams has already expressed his desire to see the Swans pushing for the play-off places next season meaning he will want to see the team finish strong here. [/p]

[p]The hosts have already got the better of Millwall this season (3-0), so will perhaps be confident of making it consecutive victories to round off the season for the first time since achieving the feat back in 2011/12. Recent form at home bodes well too, as they won four of the last five games here (L1), managing three clean sheets along the way.[/p]

[p]Millwall come into the final day in 16th and could replace their hosts with a win, something which they achieved with a late goal at The Den (W 1-0) against Plymouth last Saturday. That made it a campaign-high four wins in a row and a sign of the improvements in the side since manager Neil Harris took over in February when the club sat 21st in the Championship, one point above the relegation zone.[/p]

[p]The Lions secured victory in their last away trip at Sunderland (1-0), but that was just their third win across the last 14 away league matches (D2, L9). And having lost each of their past three season finales – while shipping 11 goals – history isn’t on their side in terms of bucking that recent poor form on the road. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Jamal Lowe scored Swansea’s opening goal in the reverse fixture, something which he has done with six of his last nine league goals. Millwall’s Zian Flemming hasn’t scored in two months, but when he does it’s usually early, as four of his last five league goals arrived at or before the 30th minute.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Millwall have won a league-low two points in games they conceded first (D2, L15).[/p]
