Union Berlin Bochum prediction 2024-05-05

Union Berlin vs Bochum prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-05-04 13:30.
[p]Union Berlin were arguably unfortunate not to claim three points in their last match, a 0-0 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach, although they now have the opportunity to ensure that they avoid automatic relegation by defeating Bundesliga survival rivals Bochum. A five-game winless run ahead of this encounter (D2, L3) has kept Union in the relegation mixer however, so an improvement is sorely needed with only three rounds of the season remaining. [/p]

[p]That torrid five-game sequence is actually the division’s longest ongoing winless run and Union’s worst under boss Nenad Bjelica. Looking at their home form, the Iron Ones have fallen off a cliff after losing three of their last four league outings at Stadion An der Alten Försterei (W1), which is in stark contrast to their hugely impressive return of 13 home points from a possible 15 to begin their Croatian manager’s reign (W4, D1). [/p]

[p]Currently locked on points with their hosts, Bochum’s permutations are nearly identical as a win would confirm their avoidance of the bottom two spots. That’s thanks to a nervy 3-2 triumph over Hoffenheim last weekend, Heiko Butscher’s men ended a woeful eight-game run without victory (D2, L6) after surviving a late scare. A sense of trepidation may prevail pre-game though, as the Blues remain without back-to-back wins all season.[/p]

[p]It’s difficult to make a case for Bochum to end that trend here as they sit bottom of the away league table for 2023/24 (W1, D4, L10), while just one of that paltry seven-point haul on the road has been picked up since the beginning of December (L7). Despite that poor travelling form, they often play their part in entertaining spectacles, with three of their last six trips seeing them score first or equalise. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Underlining Union’s terrible form, young forward Yorbe Vertessen (BUN: G2) has been their only goalscorer across their last 488 minutes of regulation play. Trying to outdo him will be Kevin Stöger scored Bochum’s third goal in the 3-0 reverse H2H victory and did the same last weekend as he netted twice in a Flashscore Man of the Match performance.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Eight of the last ten Berlin-held H2Hs have seen both teams score. [/p]
