Toulouse Brest prediction 2024-05-19

Toulouse vs Brest prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-05-18 19:00.
[p]Stuck in mid-table and realistically consigned to a third-successive bottom-half finish in Ligue 1, Toulouse have little but pride to play for on this final day. A tenth place finish is the ceiling of their ambitions for this season, something which if they achieve, would mark their highest top-flight finish since 2013/14, though to do so they’ll need to better Reims’ result. [/p]

[p]Four straight away league wins, including against champions PSG last weekend (3-1), has helped them sit comfortably in mid-table, but it’s been a much different story at home of late, where they’re winless in four (D2, L2). Toulouse are enduring a similarly torrid streak in H2Hs against Brest of late (D3, L2), but as they go for back-to-back final day Ligue 1 wins, they at least have some added incentive. [/p]

[p]Since being founded in 1950, Brest have never as much as competed in a European fixture, but after Nice were defeated by PSG in midweek, they’ll be competing in the UEFA Champions League next season. Whether they get a direct league phase spot or have to go through the qualifiers remains to be seen as they sit level on points with third-place Lille but with an inferior goal difference. [/p]

[p]Due to an inferior H2H record against Lille, Brest will have to win by three goals more than Lille do if the northerners win their final day clash., but simply bettering their result would be enough to secure that top-four berth. Lille face a tricky-looking home clash against fifth-place Nice on the final day, but Brest will be fully focused on holding up their own end of the bargain – something which after alternating between wins and defeats in their last five away league games (W3, L2), they aren’t guaranteed to do. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: In what could be his last game for Toulouse, Thijs Dallinga has caught the eye of clubs across Europe ahead of the summer transfer window – five of his last six goals have made the score 1-1. Brest defender Lilian Brassier has been an unlikely scorer lately, heading home their last two league goals in either first or second half stoppage time. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Brest have scored a league-high 11 away goals in the 15 minutes immediately following half-time. [/p]
