Burnley Nottingham prediction 2024-05-19

Burnley vs Nottingham prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-05-18 15:00.
[p]Burnley bring the curtain down on a dismal Premier League campaign when they host Nottingham Forest in what is now a dead rubber given the Clarets’ relegation has been confirmed. Had Burnley held onto their 1-0 lead and not lost 2-1 at Spurs last weekend, this would have been a winner takes all clash to stay up, but having now dropped 27 points from leading positions this season, their collapse was no great surprise. [/p]

[p]Whatever happens here, Vincent Kompany’s side have already set an unwanted club record for their lowest-ever points tally in the Premier League. To have just 24 points at this stage is a toe-curling sight for Burnley fans given their £100m summer spend, but with the Clarets winning seven of the last eight home meetings with Forest (D1), perhaps the Turf Moor faithful will hope their expensively-assembled squad can secure just a third home league win of the campaign (D4, L12). [/p]

[p]Forest themselves capitulated from a winning position last weekend, letting a 2-1 lead slip in a 3-2 reverse against Chelsea. In doing so, they missed the opportunity to secure the point they needed to mathematically secure their top-flight status for next season, but with Luton in 18th trailing them by three points, and Forest boasting a goal difference 12 better than the Hatters’, only a freakish set of results will send the Tricky Trees down. [/p]

[p]Boss Nuno Espírito Santo unsurprisingly claimed the “job is not yet over” in the wake of that Chelsea defeat, and given his last Premier League H2H against Burnley ended in a heavy 4-0 defeat whilst in charge of Wolves, perhaps that’s a wise claim. Turf Moor hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for Nuno in the top-flight (D1, L2), but having won their last away outing against the other already-relegated side in Sheffield United, Forest are targeting back-to-back top-flight away wins for the first time since April 1995![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Burnley’s Zeki Amdouni scored the opener in Burnley’s two prior meetings with Forest this season across league and cup (W1, D1) while Callum Hudson-Odoi netted the equaliser when these two met in the league, and he’s scored after the hour mark in Forest’s last two games.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Forest have conceded before half-time in 12 of their last 13 away league games. [/p]
