Germany Hungary prediction 2024-06-19

Germany vs Hungary prediction: EUROPE: Euro betting tips on match 2024-06-18 16:00.
[p]Germany couldn’t have begun Euro 2024 much better as they thrashed Scotland 5-1 on Friday to get their tournament off to a flying start. It set the stage for a goal-filled opening weekend but this contest against Hungary may be a cagier affair given the fact that only one of their last four H2Hs produced more than three goals – albeit that was a 2-2 draw at Euro 2020 (W1, D2, L1)! [/p]

[p]As that game was in Munich, the hosts know that they can take nothing for granted even on home soil with manager Julian Nagelsmann describing Hungary as unpleasant to play against and “difficult to get a hold of”. But the Germans shouldn’t be lacking confidence as they’re now unbeaten in four matches at home (W3, D1) following their biggest home win since November 2021.[/p]

[p]On the back foot following Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Switzerland, Hungary are looking to buck a worrying trend of winning none of their last seven matches at the Euro finals (D4, L3) with all three of those defeats seeing them concede at least three times. It appears that even manager Marco Rossi has little hope of ending that run here, calling his side’s task against Germany an impossible one.[/p]

[p]“I dare anybody to bet one Hungarian forint on us,” he said as the Magyars bid to move on from an underwhelming start to the tournament in which Rossi stated that only a handful of his players emerged with any credit. Expect him to consider making changes to the starting XI then even though Hungary won the last H2H in Germany, prevailing 1-0 in the UEFA Nations League in September 2022. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Kai Havertz has scored between the 40th and 55th minute in both of Germany’s last two fixtures and was also on the scoresheet in the second half of the Euro 2020 H2H (D 2-2). Roland Sallai, one of six players in the Hungarian squad who ply their trade in Germany, has scored, assisted and collected a booking across his last two internationals. [/p]

[p]Hot streak: Germany have won the corner count in each of their last five games (W4, D1).[/p]
