[p]With Group A of this year’s Copa América featuring the defending champions, 2022 World Cup winners, and tournament favourites Argentina, both Peru and Chile will know there is very little margin for error when they get their campaigns underway against each other. They’ll both also have to deal with tournament newcomers Canada in pursuit of making it to the knockout stages, something Peru have done in each of the last ten editions. [/p]
[p]Confidence will be flowing in the Peruvian camp since new manager Jorge Fossati has got off to a near perfect start, guiding his side to three wins and a draw in his four matches in charge. Attempting to steal the spotlight will be Chile’s Eduardo Vargas, who has tormented Peru in the past by scoring seven times in as many appearances against them.[/p]
