Dyn. Kyiv (Ukr) Rangers (Sco) prediction 2024-08-06

Dyn. Kyiv (Ukr) vs Rangers (Sco) prediction: EUROPE: Champions League – Qualification betting tips on match 2024-08-05 18:00.
[p]After kicking off 2024/25 with a stunning 9-2 aggregate win over Partizan Belgrade in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round, Dynamo Kyiv have already secured a place in a European league phase. Although they’re still unable to play their home games in Ukraine, instead playing at Poland’s Lublin Arena, Dynamo showed their credentials by hammering Partizan, leading to their boss hailing them as a “serious club” after they scored three goals in both halves here in July.[/p]

[p]Having missed out on a record-extending 17th Ukrainian title by two points last term, Dynamo have already gone one better in Europe after suffering Conference League play-off heartache against BeƟiktaƟ this time last year. Their most recent participation in a Champions League third qualifying round came when winning the home leg 1-0 against Sturm Graz in 2022/23, which is curiously the same scoreline as the only ever home H2H meeting against Rangers. [/p]

[p]That result won’t play too much on the minds of the Glaswegians given that it was both their only competitive away game against Ukrainian opponents, and also way back in 1987. Philippe Clement’s men resumed domestic duties over the weekend with a disappointing  0-0 draw against Hearts to kick off the new Scottish Premiership campaign, as they look to regain the domestic crown once more.[/p]

[p]Rangers booked their ticket directly into the third qualifying round due to last term’s second-placed finish in the league, and after reaching the Europa League knockout phase last season, they’ll hope to go one better and dine out at European football’s top table this season. Despite their cause for optimism, it is worth noting that Rangers have failed to win each of their last five Champions League third qualifying round away games (D3, L2), although they did ultimately reach the group stage, the league phase equivalent, in their last two attempts. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: With a goal and an assist, both at ‘home’, Vladyslav Kabaev is one of Dynamo’s three players who already have two goal involvements at this early stage of the European season. Looking to make his mark on the continent for Rangers will be Cyriel Dessers, the Nigerian forward who has already scored in each of the three UEFA European competitions and four different European domestic leagues during his career. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Dynamo have not lost a UEFA Champions League third qualifying round ‘home’ game since a defeat to Rubin Kazan in 2011/12 (W5, D1). [/p]
