Parma vs Fiorentina prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-08-16 16:30.
[p]Stadio Ennio Tardini is set to host a Serie A match for the first time in more than three years after Parma earned promotion back to the Italian top-flight last season. The Serie B champions will certainly hope for a better return than their last campaign in Serie A back in 2020/21 when they won only three league matches and finished bottom of the table.[/p]
[p]It’s been a far from ideal start to the campaign for Parma however, as they were knocked out of the Coppa Italia in midweek by second-tier Palermo (1-0). That defeat was just their second across their last 20 home matches in all competitions since the start of the last term though (W11, D7), so the home faithful should still be confident ahead of their season opener.[/p]
[p]Last season’s UEFA Europa Conference League runners-up Fiorentina have had quite the shake-up over the summer, with former Monza boss Raffaele Palladino replacing Vincenzo Italiano in the dugout. La Viola have been busy in the transfer window too, with attacking duo Moise Kean and Andrea Colpani arriving as well as the high-profile addition of former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea.[/p]
[p]Argentina international winger Nico González looks set to depart however, denting Fiorentina’s hopes of a first top-six finish since 2015/16. New boss Palladino will be keen to improve his side’s away showings after they lost more than they won on the road in Serie A last term (W7, D4, L8), though one of those victories did come against newly-promoted opposition on the opening day, beating Genoa 4-1.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Dennis Man was Parma’s top scorer in the league last term with 11 goals, and he continued his strong form with three goals in pre-season, two of which came in an impressive 4-1 win over Atalanta. New Fiorentina forward Colpani scored eight Serie A goals last season for Monza, with four of his last six arriving before the break.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Both teams have scored in five of the last six H2Hs.[/p]
