Inter Lecce prediction 2024-08-24

Inter vs Lecce prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-08-23 18:45.
[p]Inter Milan were denied a winning start to their Serie A title defence by a stoppage-time goal on matchday one, with none other than former AC Milan winger Junior Messias rescuing a 2-2 draw for Genoa. The task for Simone Inzaghi’s men now is to avoid becoming just the fourth Scudetto holder since the start of the three points for a win era in 1994/95 to start a season without a win from their first two matches![/p]

[p]The good news for Simone Inzaghi’s men is that only four sides collected a full allocation of points last weekend. And the Inter faithful will be full of confidence they can get back to winning ways against a Lecce side they’ve won four consecutive H2Hs against, while this is a fixture they’ve remarkably lost only once on home soil in top-flight history (W17, L1).[/p]

[p]This is far from an ideal time for Lecce to visit the iconic San Siro then after they opened their season with a heavy 4-0 defeat to Atalanta. The extent of that loss means they spent the week at the foot of the Serie A table, while perhaps more concerningly it was the fourth league game in succession in which the Giallorossi failed to score (D1, L3).[/p]

[p]Manager Luca Gotti therefore has work to do if he’s to guide Lecce to safety in their third season in the top-flight, and that could start on the road where his side struggled last season (W2, D8, L9). Only one of those defeats came from their previous six trips however (W2, D3), but rather ominously for the travelling contingent it came on this ground against AC Milan in April (3-0).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Nicolò Barella assisted Inter’s opener against Genoa and is primed to make a further impact here having directly contributed to goals in this fixture in each of the previous two seasons (G1, A1). Lecce’s top scorer last term, forward Nikola Krstović will hope for a different outcome than his last trip to the San Siro which saw him red-carded against AC Milan.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Inter have scored first in each of the last six H2Hs.[/p]
