Torino Atalanta prediction 2024-08-25

Torino vs Atalanta prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-08-24 16:30.
[p]After a strong end to last season which saw them lose just three of their last 12 Serie A games (W4, D5) to earn a ninth place finish, Torino began the new campaign with a 2-2 draw away at AC Milan on matchday one. Not since 2007 have Torino drawn both of their first two SA games of a new Serie A season, though that drought may end given that only Lecce (19) drew more league games in the previous Serie A drew more league games than Torino (14).[/p]

[p]Paolo Vanoli’s side should be confident of picking up a positive result on home soil after going unbeaten in 13 of their last 14 Serie A games at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino last season (W7, D6). Scoring the opener may well be the key to bettering that run on Sunday, with Torino winning all eight of their Serie A home games last term when finding the back of the net first, but not winning any of the four in which they conceded first (D2, L2).[/p]

[p]Opponents Atalanta ended matchday one on top of the Serie A table after their 4-0 win at Lecce, but only once in their last 14 seasons in the top flight have La Dea recorded victories in each of their two opening league games. That one occasion, in the 2020/21 campaign, did see them pick up one of those two wins against Torino, so Gian Piero Gasperini’s side will be hoping that history repeats itself here.[/p]

[p]Atalanta have typically been reliable goal scorers as the visitors in this matchup, aggregating 61 goals across 55 away Serie A H2Hs (W10, D18, L27), which is second only to 62 at Lazio for their most away goals against any one club in their top-flight history. The Bergamo outfit were unable to add to the count last season when a 3-0 loss at Torino followed four consecutive away H2H wins, but last week’s effort has them well placed to challenge Torino’s defence once again.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: The referee may need to keep a close eye on Torino’s Samuele Ricci, who has received a first half yellow card in each of his last three appearances including friendlies. Courtesy of his double on debut for Atalanta, five of Marco Brescianini’s six Serie A goals were recorded on the road. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Torino did not trail at half-time in a single Serie A home game last season (1H: W4, D15).[/p]
