Leganes Las Palmas prediction 2024-08-25

Leganes vs Las Palmas prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-08-24 17:00.
[p]Leganés missed the opportunity to celebrate their return to La Liga after a four-year absence with a win, as a 79th-minute own goal saw them draw 1-1 with Osasuna last weekend. Despite the frustrating ending, manager Borja Jiménez hailed the point as “very positive”, and they now have a chance to extend their six-match unbeaten top-flight sequence (W3, D3) by avoiding defeat against Las Palmas.[/p]

[p]History suggests that’s certainly within the realms of possibility, as Los Pepineros have never lost a La Liga H2H (W2, D2). They’ve been particularly formidable at home, where Leganés have avoided defeat in all but two of their 15 meetings with the Canary Islanders in any competition (W5, D8), but the majority of fans in attendance won’t be getting too carried away as their side only won a slim majority of their home league games in La Liga 2 last season (W11, D8, L2).[/p]

[p]Like their hosts, Las Palmas also started their campaign by earning a point, although they came back from a goal down twice in a 2-2 draw against Sevilla. Boss Luis Carrión said that “the draw is more or less fair”, but the club’s supporters may soon become sick of that outcome given it was their fourth consecutive La Liga stalemate. The concerns run deeper however, as the visitors are winless in 15 matches (D6, L9) since their last competitive victory in February.[/p]

[p]The desire to turn things around is strong, but Las Palmas have to find a way to score, having failed to do so in their last three La Liga away games (D1, L2). That was a recurring theme from the last campaign, as they netted just 13 times on the road in the league, with only two clubs scoring fewer.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Juan Cruz was Flashscore’s highest-rated player in the 1-1 draw against Osasuna as he opened the scoring for Leganés. That was the first time he’d scored before the 45th minute for the club, his other four strikes had been after that mark. Sandro Ramírez narrowly missed out on becoming the highest-rated player last weekend for Las Palmas, but he did score the last goal of the match to earn his team a point against Sevilla. Interestingly, three of his last four scoring appearances ended level.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Nine of the last 13 league H2Hs have been goalless at the break.[/p]
