Nottingham Wolves prediction 2024-08-31

Nottingham vs Wolves prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-08-30 14:00.
[p]Coming into round three of the season, eight Premier League teams are yet to taste a league defeat, and surprisingly, a Nottingham Forest side who only survived in the top-flight on the final day of last season are one of them (W1, D1). Midlands rivals Wolves will be next up to try and crack them this season, and it’s a fixture that holds special sentiment for Forest boss Nuno Espírito Santo, who not only won the Championship at Molineux, but guided them into Europe too. [/p]

[p]After Forest’s strong start, fans of the Tricky Trees would be forgiven for dreaming Espírito Santo can guide them into Europe too, and with an impressive record against his former employers since leaving (W2, D1), those expectations may only heighten here. Levelling out that record with another draw would appear the more likely outcome though, as the last four H2Hs have all ended in stalemate after 90 minutes despite Forest taking the lead in all four. [/p]

[p]It’s been a disastrous start to the season for Wolves, who have lost their opening two league games and conceded a whopping eight goals in the process after last weekend’s 6-2 home defeat to Chelsea. It was the first time Wolves had conceded six goals in the league at home since 2007, and after boss Gary O’Neil claimed his side’s performance against Chelsea was “unacceptable” in the second half, it would be no surprise to see the Wolves bite back here. [/p]

[p]They’ll at least hope to put a point on the board this weekend, as this a ground they’ve excelled at of late, going unbeaten across their last six league visits (W3, D3). They’ll be hard-pushed to extend that record this weekend though based on their current wretched away form, as Wolves have lost five of their last seven Premier League away outings (D2) with all five losses coming by at least a two-goal margin. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Once loved by Wolves fans, Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, fresh off a first-ever call-up to the England senior squad, will be relishing this clash against his former club. Hoping to again taunt the away fans as he did in this fixture when scoring last season, he has seen his last 11 Forest goals arrive after the 40th minute, including the winner against Southampton last weekend. Wolves’ Matheus Cunha mimicked Gibbs-White’s infamous fingers in ears celebration when scoring at the City Ground last season – he scored before half-time in both H2Hs last term and netted in the first half against Chelsea too.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Wolves have conceded before half-time in their last eight away league games. [/p]
