Faroe Islands North Macedonia prediction 2024-09-07

Faroe Islands vs North Macedonia prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League C betting tips on match 2024-09-06 13:00.
[p]After failing to win any of their eight Euro 2024 qualification games (D2, L6), the Faroe Islands (FIFA rank #138) – who have never qualified for a major tournament – spent their summer competing in the Baltic Cup. Losing both of their games in that competition, to Estonia and Latvia respectively, meant HĂĄkan Ericson’s side extended their woeful run to just one win in 16 international matches (D3, L12).[/p]

[p]Appointed in December 2019, Ericson has overseen the island’s last two UEFA Nations League (UNL) campaigns, losing only two of his 12 matches at the helm in the competition to date (W5, D5) and having won promotion up to League C in the first of those. They then achieved a solid third-place finish in Group C1 last term as three of their six games were decided by a one-goal margin with another two ending level, showing how competitive they can be at this level. However, they have been beaten by 2+ goals eight times since then which might have dented confidence.[/p]

[p]Saturday’s opponents North Macedonia (#72) are also preparing for a second consecutive UNL campaign at this level following a third-place finish in Group C4 last time out (W2, D1, L3). Blagoja Milevski’’s side also missed out on qualification for Euro 2024 and lost friendlies against both Croatia and the Czech Republic in June, with those results extending their winless run to six (D2, L4).[/p]

[p]Milevski masterminded four wins in his first seven away games having been appointed in August 2021 (D2, L1), but has since seen his side lose six of their seven games on their travels (W1), conceding 2+ goals in all six of those defeats and being kept scoreless in four of them. North Macedonia did win the only previous H2H between these two nations in March 2023 (1-0), though that did come on home soil in Skopje.[/p]

[p]Key battle: With two goals, defender Viljormur Davidsen was the Faroe Islands’ joint-top scorer in their last UEFA Nations League campaign, and both of his strikes were the country’s openers in 2-1 wins. Forward Enis Bardhi ended North Macedonia’s last campaign in the competition as their top scorer, and averaged over three shots at goal per game.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: There has been at least one second-half goal in seven of North Macedonia’s last eight games.[/p]
