Torino Lecce prediction 2024-09-15

Torino vs Lecce prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-09-14 13:00.
[p]A late winner away to Venezia saw Torino record back-to-back victories as they continue their unbeaten start to this Serie A campaign – one which sees them start this round as one of four teams tied at the top on seven points (W2, D1). New manager Paolo Vanoli should be urging his players to keep their feet firmly on the ground as Torino recorded such a start to the 2022/23 season, which eventually saw them finish tenth with 53 points – coincidentally the same amount of points they recorded last season when finishing ninth![/p]

[p]Torino avoided defeat in each of their 11 home matches against the teams that finished beneath them last season (W6, D5), boasting nine clean sheets in that run including a 2-0 victory over upcoming opponents Lecce. They’ll need some similarly convincing home performances this season too as they bid to secure European football for the first time since playing in the 2019/20 Europa League qualifiers.[/p]

[p]Lecce lost both H2H encounters last season ‘to nil’, forming the most recent two of four straight H2H defeats without scoring for the visitors. Things do at least look a little brighter now as, after back-to-back losses to start this campaign, a 1-0 win against Cagliari prior the international break saw them get off the mark for the season and end their unwanted five-game goalless run in Serie A![/p]

[p]Despite losing their only away league match of this season to Inter (2-0), Lecce’s recent record on the road hasn’t been too bad, avoiding defeat in five of their last seven such matches (W2, D3, L2), losing only to both of Milan’s giants. Any excessive optimism would be hampered by the fact that Lecce haven’t won any of their last ten away matches against last season’s top nine finishers (D1, L9), including eight losses ‘to nil’. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Torino’s DuvĂĄn Zapata registered four of his last five competitive goals on or beyond the 60th minute, which was also a period in which he found the net in the last H2H. It was unsurprisingly Nikola Krstović who ended Lecce’s goal drought in their last league match. He has been Lecce’s first goal scorer in each of his last seven league goalscoring outings.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Torino kept a clean sheet in six of their last eight home competitive matches.[/p]
