Strasbourg Angers prediction 2024-09-15

Strasbourg vs Angers prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-09-14 15:00.
[p]It’s been an indifferent start to the new campaign for Strasbourg (W1, D1, L1), who headed into the international break on the back of a frustrating 4-3 loss at Lyon – a game in which they led 3-1 at one stage. They’ll aim to get over that loss here back on their own turf where Le Racing do have a solid record of four wins from their past five Ligue 1 home games (L1). [/p]

[p]New boss Liam Rosenior – who joined in the summer – has only overseen one of those home wins, leading his side to a 3-1 win over Rennes three weeks ago. He should be confident of his side adding to that streak given Strasbourg’s solid recent H2H history, which has seen them win each of the past three Ligue 1 meetings with Angers, their best ever run against the club from western France. [/p]

[p]Many predicted that newly-promoted Angers would struggle back in France’s top-flight, and their start to the season reaffirms that belief. They’ve lost all three of their opening league matches – scoring just once –  and another defeat here would see them match their longest-ever losing run to start a new Ligue 1 campaign set back in 1964/65 (four).[/p]

[p]Perhaps encouragingly, that campaign finished in survival, but to repeat that act they may have to achieve something they’ve not done in two years – win on the road in Ligue 1! Their last such success came with a 1-0 victory over Nice in September 2022, but if Angers are looking for an omen to cling onto, they are unbeaten in six of their past seven visits to Strasbourg (W4, D2).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Strasbourg midfielder Andrey Santos scored in a second successive game at Lyon, but suffered what was just a second defeat when finding the back of the net from his last nine goalscoring appearances (W6, D1). Angers’ Himad Abdelli netted his first Ligue 1 goal since May 2023 in the 4-1 defeat to Nice – ending a run of 13 scoring appearances without defeat (W10, D3). [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Strasbourg have scored at least once after the 70th minute in four of their last five home league matches. [/p]
