Reims PSG prediction 2024-09-21

Reims vs PSG prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-09-20 19:00.
[p]Whilst their visitors spent their week making a winning start to a new Champions League campaign, Reims hit the training pitch plotting how to defeat PSG for the first time since September 2019 (D3, L6). They’ve already picked up two wins as underdogs this Ligue 1 season, beating both Nantes (away) and Rennes (home) 2-1 in their last two outings, and another surprise win would see them match their best five-round start to a Ligue 1 campaign this century. [/p]

[p]A stalemate is not beyond the capabilities of new Reims boss Luka Elsner, who boasts high-scoring draws with PSG during his tenures at both Le Havre (3-3) and Amiens (4-4). Their most likely route to success would be to get amongst the goals again, given that Reims have accumulated just four clean sheets from their last 27 league matches – a stretch that started with a 3-0 loss at home to PSG! [/p]

[p]PSG’s domination of this competition shows no signs of abating whatsoever. Their 3-1 victory over Brest, the first of the season in which they had to overturn a deficit, was hailed by manager Luis Enrique as “further proof that we’re continuing to go from strength to strength”. An eight-game winning streak across all competitions – most recently a 1-0 victory over Girona in midweek – gives that assertion a lot of weight![/p]

[p]Not since February 2023 have PSG lost a league game away from home, with an impeccable 21 wins from their last 26 such trips (D5). An average of 2.35 goals scored across those 26 games well and truly illustrates the enormous task ahead of Reims’ defensive unit, although having conceded in four of their last five away league games, PSG’s defence has proved to be a little vulnerable.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Marshall Munetsi, who scored Reims’ first goal in their victory over Nantes, also opened the scoring in the most recent H2H. As the game ages, Randal Kolo Muani’s threat could grow. On the scoresheet in each of PSG’s two Ligue 1 away trips this season, five of Kolo Muani’s last six Ligue 1 goals were recorded on or beyond the 80th minute. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: 11 of PSG’s last 12 Ligue 1 wins were by a 2+ goal margin. [/p]
