AC Milan Lecce prediction 2024-09-27

AC Milan vs Lecce prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-09-26 18:45.
[p]An 89th minute winner from Matteo Gabbia on Sunday saw AC Milan end a six-match losing streak in the Derby della Madonnina against Inter and record back-to-back wins in Serie A for the first time since April when they won five league games in a row. The final victory of that sequence was at home against Lecce, who are the visitors once again on Friday evening.[/p]

[p]Picking up three points in home H2Hs has become routine for the Rossoneri, who have dropped points only twice at the San Siro against Lecce since the turn of the century (W10, D2) and have kept clean sheets in five of the last six (W5, D1). The positive omens donā€™t stop there, as manager Paulo Fonseca, who took over at Milan in June, also has a strong record against Lecce, winning both previous H2Hs without conceding whilst in charge of Roma in 2019/20.[/p]

[p]After beginning the campaign with defeats ā€˜to nilā€™ against last seasonā€™s Europa League winners Atalanta and Scudetto holders Inter, Lecce have since picked up five points from three games since. Theyā€™ll feel it could have been seven points from those matches though after they threw away a two-goal lead in second-half injury time against Parma on Saturday.[/p]

[p]If Lecce had held on, they would have begun this gameweek in the top half, but instead they are hovering just outside the relegation zone, albeit at this early stage of the season. There was, however, still a positive to take for Luca Gottiā€™s side who scored twice in Serie A for only the second time in their last 20 games, ending a run of nine matches (W1, D4, L4) without doing so![/p]

[p]Key battle: Milan winger Rafael LeĆ£o has taken the Flashscore Player of the Match award in this fixture across the last two seasons and has scored in four of his last five H2Hs against Lecce (W3, D2). Looking to stop him will be Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone who has kept four clean sheets from his last seven Serie A away games, but has a miserable H2H record against Milan with no wins (D2, L4) or clean sheets and 14 goals conceded across six appearances![/p]

[p]Hot stat: AC Milanā€™s last five Serie A home matches (W2, D3) have averaged over five goals per game.[/p]
