Dortmund Celtic prediction 2024-10-01

Dortmund vs Celtic prediction: EUROPE: Champions League – League phase betting tips on match 2024-09-30 19:00.
[p]A 4-2 Bundesliga win over Bochum on Friday night was the perfect UEFA Champions League warm-up for Borussia Dortmund, who welcome Celtic for their second league phase outing. Their first one went exactly according to plan as they downed Club Brugge 3-0 thanks to three goals after the 70th minute, and they’ve now struck in that period in their last four competitive games. [/p]

[p]Any late goals here would probably enhance a victory, as Dortmund have won their last five competitive home games by a 2+ goal margin. They haven’t quite been as impressive in European action at home lately, winning just eight of their last 17 such games (D6, L3), but that record is offset by the fact last season’s finalists are unbeaten in 11 UCL home outings (W7, D4), keeping a clean sheet in eight of those games.  [/p]

[p]Celtic will hope they won’t get shut out in this game, and they proved their attacking prowess on the road at the weekend with a thumping 6-0 victory away to St Johnstone. That was a third successive game in which Celtic have scored 5+ goals, but a trip to Dortmund is a completely different task, and having never won away to German opposition (D3, L11), it seems unlikely to be a challenge they’ll rise to.[/p]

[p]Boss Brendan Rodgers will be quick to point out that they beat Slovan Bratislava 5-1 in their league phase opener which was in fact a second-straight win in the competition. Never before have Celtic won three successive UCL games, and with nine defeats from their last 11 European away games (W1, D1), it’s hard to see them making a slice of history here. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Serhou Guirassy has now scored in three successive Dortmund appearances, netting on or beyond the 75th minute in all three! Kyogo Furuhashi netted a first-half brace against St Johnstone, and Celtic will be hoping he’s on target again here as 13 of his last 14 scoring appearances ended in victory for his side. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Dortmund scored exactly twice in five of their last six games against Scottish opposition. [/p]
