Ferencvaros Tottenham prediction 2024-10-03

Ferencvaros vs Tottenham prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – League phase betting tips on match 2024-10-02 16:45.
[p]Ferencváros’ late fightback against a ten-man Anderlecht saw them fall short of equalising (2-1) and they consequently completed a fifth straight continental match without a regulation time victory (D3, L2). Head coach Pascal Jansen was understandably disappointed but not too glum about their Europa League prospects going forward, blaming untimely errors for the two goals conceded and declaring that his team “absolutely should not have lost”.[/p]

[p]A new chapter in club history will now be written when they face English opposition for the first time in 20 years since defeating Millwall to reach the group stage of the 2004/05 UEFA Cup. Head coach Pascal Jansen and his side should be confident of bouncing back in their own stadium, where they took points from all six group stage games (either the Europa or Conference Leagues) across the two previous seasons (W3, D3), including as underdogs against the likes of Monaco and Fiorentina. [/p]

[p]In their opening league phase fixture, Tottenham had one of the most chaotic 3-0 wins imaginable with traffic issues delaying the kick-off by half an hour, centre-back Radu Drăgușin seeing red within seven minutes, and star forward Son Heung-min forced off with injury in the second half. Whilst it may present manager Ange Postecoglou with some unwelcome challenges, Postecoglou already knows a thing or two about conquering FerencvĂĄros, doing so twice with Celtic during the 2021/22 group stage of this competition. [/p]

[p]Spurs struggled horrendously on the road throughout their two previous European campaigns, winning only one of eight matches (D2, L5) across UEFA’s first and third-tier competitions. Their 3-0 demolition of a ten-man Manchester United at Old Trafford at the weekend should excite the fanbase, but there’s still plenty of work to do with their last nine Premier League away games producing a similar record to their aforementioned continental one (W2, D2, L5).  [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Ferencváros Brazilian forward Saldanha can’t be far off a start after amassing four goals off the bench in his last two domestic league appearances, including a match-winning hat-trick at the weekend. Spurs have scored exactly three goals in each of their last three competitive matches, with Dominic Solanke scoring once in all three.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: The winning side scored at least two goals in each of Ferencváros’ last six competitive matches.[/p]
