Bulgaria vs Luxembourg prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League C betting tips on match 2024-10-11 16:00.
[p]UEFA Nations League (UNL) group stage action continues with Bulgaria hosting Luxembourg.  Since Ilian Iliev’s appointment as boss in November 2023, the Bulgarians have gone from strength to strength, resulting in an eight game unbeaten run (W2, D6) with the most recent two games seeing them gain four points from two Group C3 fixtures so far – leaving them tied on points with Belarus atop the standings. [/p]
[p]That statistic is slightly skewed however, considering Bulgaria’s 1-0 victory over Northern Ireland last time out was their first competitive victory since September 2022! So they’ll be hoping star man and captain Kiril Despodov can help turn a raft of draws into wins in order to top the group and qualify for League B, a level they last featured in 2020/21. [/p]
[p]Things are not as bright for Luxembourg and they’ll travel to The City of the Seven Hills with a mountain to climb after kicking off their UNL campaign with back-to-back defeats. Those losses find them bottom of the group and on a four-game losing streak overall, meaning they are now in real danger of demotion to the lowest of the groups, League D, which they haven’t featured in since 2018/19.  [/p]
[p]Having failed to find the back of the net in any of those defeats means goals will be top of the menu as Luxembourg attempt to recreate the form which saw them lose just one of their seven UNL contests prior to those defeats (W3, D3). But they’ll need to make history if they are to triumph here with a dreadful H2H record reading zero wins from 15 H2H games (D2, L13) which is also the most times they have faced an opponent without triumphing in their history![/p]
[p]Players to watch: Despodov will be the man to watch after his winning goal in Bulgaria’s victory over Northern Ireland. Don’t expect his six-match run without a goal contribution to last much longer as it’s his longest such run since March! Danel Sinani is Luxembourg’s all-action man, with his last five appearances for the national side (including friendlies) seeing him grab two goal contributions (G1, A1) and a red card! [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Including friendlies, three of just six goals Bulgaria have conceded from their last eight games have arrived before the 17th minute![/p]
