Malta Moldova prediction 2024-10-13

Malta vs Moldova prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League D betting tips on match 2024-10-12 16:00.
[p]After winning two and losing two of their four matches in the previous UEFA Nations League (UNL) campaign, Malta have picked up where they left off by winning one and losing one of their opening two games of the 2024/25 edition. Their 2-0 defeat to Moldova was followed by a 1-0 triumph in Andorra last month, bringing a timely end to a run of nine outings without victory (D2, L7). [/p]

[p]The Reds are now looking to avenge that loss to Moldova, but that will be a tough ask as Malta haven’t won any of the last six H2Hs (D3, L3). Caretaker boss Davide Mazzotta’s preparations for this fixture haven’t been ideal either, as a planned friendly at home to Turkmenistan on Thursday was scrapped because the visitors were prevented from travelling by their own government. [/p]

[p]Moldova are in command of the three-team UNL Group D2 after winning their first two matches. A 2-0 win over Andorra on Thursday made it three consecutive wins ‘to nil’ for the first time in their history, while the Tricolours will now be aiming for an unprecedented fourth straight victory as they seek to get back to League C for the first time since the 2020/21 UNL cycle. [/p]

[p]Boosting those prospects on the road may be tricky as Moldova’s last four wins have all come at home, and they have registered just one away triumph in their last six attempts (D2, L3). Their recent record on the road in the UNL makes for much more pleasant reading though, as they have won three of their last four such outings (D1). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Malta’s Matthew Guillaumier looks set to be at the forefront of the action as he has scored, provided an assist or been yellow carded in five of his last nine appearances for club and country (G1, A2, YC4). Also likely to be in the thick of the action, Mihail Caimacov has directly contributed to a goal in two of Moldova’s last three matches (G1, A1), but in between earning those caps, he has been booked three times in four games and served a yellow card suspension! [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Malta haven’t scored before the 45th minute in any of their last seven matches. [/p]
