Venezia vs Atalanta prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-10-19 13:00.
[p]To say that it’s been a difficult start to life back in Serie A for Venezia would be an understatement, as they enter the round sat at the bottom of the table. Their five losses across their opening seven matches this campaign (W1, D1) is the highest tally in the Italian top-flight, whilst they’ve netted just five goals in total –  only Lecce have managed fewer heading into this matchday.[/p]
[p]The visit of Atalanta looks likely to pile even more pressure on home manager Eusebio Di Francesco, as Venezia have lost each of the last three H2Hs. During that run, the hosts have conceded 2+ goals on each occasion but perhaps a small silver lining could come from the fact that they won their last home outing 2-0 against Genoa, affording them the chance to win successive top-flight home fixtures for the first time since January 2000.[/p]
[p]Visiting Atalanta will have other plans in mind though, as they look to climb the table after suffering an underwhelming start to this campaign. To this point, La Dea have acquired just ten points and consequently sit outside the top-seven (W3, D1, L3), so improvements are needed if they’re to replicate last season’s top-four finish.[/p]
[p]What remains promising is the away side’s stunning goal scoring form, as they’ve already netted a joint-league high 16 goals this campaign. Just six of them came on the road however, which goes some way to explaining why Gian Piero Gasperini’s men are winless across their last three away league outings (D1, L2), not suffering a longer run since the turn of the year. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Venezia’s Hans Nicolussi Caviglia grabbed an assist last time out, while his only Serie A goal came against Atalanta while playing for Salernitana in January 2023 – he’ll want to avoid a repeat of the thumping 8-2 defeat suffered that day! The visitors will be hoping that Charles De Ketelaere can get himself on the scoresheet here, as each of his 12 goalscoring appearances for the club have come in victories.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Atalanta’s Serie A games this season have averaged a total of 4.14 goals  – the highest tally in the competition pre-round. [/p]
