Lyon Auxerre prediction 2024-10-27

Lyon vs Auxerre prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-10-26 14:00.
[p]After starting the season with only one victory in five (D1, L3), Lyon amazingly turned a corner and won their next five games in all competitions, before suffering a 1-0 defeat at home against Beşiktaş in European action on Thursday. They’ll therefore be glad to get back to playing in Ligue 1, where they’re currently on a three-match winning streak which has propelled them to the fringes of the top six ahead of the weekend. [/p]

[p]Les Gones have really hit their stride in all areas of the pitch, having scored 2+ goals in each of their last four league encounters, and have a chance of keeping a third consecutive clean sheet in Ligue 1 for the first time this year. Those dreams could come true when they face Auxerre next at Parc Olympique Lyonnais, buoyed by their current 20-game unbeaten streak at home in the top-flight against promoted sides (W15, D5). [/p]

[p]Auxerre will be hoping to pull off a massive upset and break that sequence – a result which would see them close the gap on their hosts to just one point. Their confidence will be high coming off a 2-1 win over Reims last time out, and it’s expected that another victor will be declared here since, as only one of their last 19 matches has ended in a draw (W10, L8). [/p]

[p]Their away trips this season have contributed to that record in a negative way though, as another defeat here would see them lose their first five games on the road in a Ligue 1 campaign for just the second time in their history. AJA will be leaning on having won their last meeting with Lyon as inspiration, which finally saw manager Christophe Pélissier claim a win against them after ten prior failed attempts (D2, L8). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Alexandre Lacazette has surprisingly never netted against Auxerre, but he might do so in a high-scoring affair here, having netted the game’s third goal on each of his last three goalscoring outings for Lyon. Hoping to haunt his former employers will be Gaëtan Perrin, who loves to contribute to a goalfest himself, with each of his last ten goalscoring appearances arriving in an encounter with more than 2.5 goals, including the last H2H. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Lyon have only conceded in the first half in one of their last seven home matches.[/p]
