Parma vs Empoli prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-10-26 11:30.
[p]Back among Italy’s elite for the first time since the 2020/21 campaign, Parma have found it tough to acclimatise to life in Serie A. Last season’s Serie B champions have won just one league game this term (D4, L3), and that sole success came back in August, with their winless run currently standing at six games (D3, L3).[/p]
[p]At the root of the Crusaders’ problems is an inability to hold onto a lead, winning just one of the five games in which they’ve scored first this season (D2, L2). That was the second-worst such record in the division prior to this round and has contributed heavily to the threat of relegation looming large. Pecchia’s side must quickly start turning draws into wins, so facing an Empoli side they’ve almost always beaten at home in Serie A (W8, L1) could be a positive omen.[/p]
[p]Sunday’s visitors avoided relegation by a very narrow margin last season, and after a managerial change in the summer, found a new lease of life under Roberto D’Aversa when avoiding defeat in their first six Serie A games of the campaign (W2, D4). The Azzurri Empolesi have since gone on to lose both of their last two, but remain within touching distance of the European spots in the early stages of the season. [/p]
[p]Ominously, Empoli have not won any of their last seven Serie A games against newly-promoted sides (D4, L3), ending the most recent four without a goal to their name including three 0-0 draws. For a team who have failed to find the back of the net four times already this season, those statistics don’t make for positive reading. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Parma defender Emanuele Valeri has won just one of his four career meetings with Empoli to date (D1, L2), but recorded clean sheets in each of the most recent two. Empoli striker Emmanuel Gyasi will be out to make sure he doesn’t make that three in a row – he has two goals in two career appearances against Parma, drawing both games 2-2 whilst playing for Spezia.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Six red cards have been shown across Parma’s first eight games of the campaign, including a league-high four to Fabio Pecchia’s side.[/p]
