Hoffenheim St. Pauli prediction 2024-11-02

Hoffenheim vs St. Pauli prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-11-01 14:30.
[p]Hoffenheim may view their draw at mid-table Heidenheim (0-0) last Sunday as a point gained, but the result leaves them just three points above upcoming opponents St Pauli and the Bundesliga bottom-three. To make matters worse, it’s also the second successive match in which Pellegrino Matarazzo’s men have failed to score against top-flight opposition – the first time that’s happened since March 2023. [/p]

[p]H2Hs with St Pauli over the years have been very even (W1, D2, L1), although the last such game was in January 2011, so this looks an unpredictable affair. Hoffenheim fans will however be buoyed by knowing that their side haven’t lost any of their last eight league meetings with promoted sides (W6, D2), including seven of those matches with Matarazzo at the helm. [/p]

[p]Like their hosts here, 16th-placed St Pauli also enter this fixture having drawn 0-0 in their previous Bundesliga outing, a result which stretched their winless run in the competition to three matches (D1, L2). However, they can take some comfort from the fact that their only league victory this season came away from home at Freiburg (3-0). [/p]

[p]Boss Alexander Blessin will be looking for his players to score more consistently across the campaign, as they have so far failed to score in five of their eight Bundesliga games this term – a league-high. If they do get on the scoresheet, it appears unlikely to come early as only one of their five top-flight goals this term has come before the 45th minute. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Hoffenheim midfielder Tom Bischof registered his first assist of the season in their last home league game against Bochum – each of his last seven direct goal contributions for club and country came on home soil (G4, A3). Eric Smith meanwhile has scored in St Pauli’s last two away games against Dortmund in the Bundesliga and Leipzig in the DFB-Pokal – even though both of those fixtures ended in defeat.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Just two of St Pauli’s league matches this term have seen both teams score. [/p]
