Wolfsburg Augsburg prediction 2024-11-02

Wolfsburg vs Augsburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-11-01 14:30.
[p]After watching their side struggle to a 12th placed finish in the Bundesliga last season, Wolfsburg fans will have been hoping for much better this time around but so far, they’ve been left disappointed. Last time out, the hosts stumbled to a goalless draw with recently promoted St Pauli, a result which extended their current run to just one win in six league outings (D2, L3). [/p]

[p]Despite the favourites tag they carry against Augsburg, another winless outing wouldn’t be a surprise given their prior H2H record. That’s because Wolfsburg have won just three of their last 13 home Bundesliga fixtures against this opponent (D6, L4), a streak which means that their win percentage on home soil vs Augsburg (23%) is their second-lowest against any side they’ve played 3+ times in competition history, behind only record winners Bayern Munich (14%). [/p]

[p]That will serve as an additional confidence boost for Jess Thorup’s side, who make the long trip north on the back of a routine 3-0 win over Schalke in midweek DFB-Pokal action. That result followed their 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund just a few days prior, and even though they begin this matchday still sat down in 12th spot – two places above their hosts – the away faithful will be encouraged by their side’s recent upturn in form. [/p]

[p]What will be much more of a concern is the fact that Augsburg have now lost each of their last seven away Bundesliga outings, an unwanted club record. Their last such win did at least come in the form of a 3-1 victory in this exact fixture last season, although that was the last time they netted multiple goals on their travels in league action.  [/p]

[p]Key battle: Wolfsburg centre-back Sebastiaan Bornauw is likely to be amongst the action again here as he’s scored before half-time twice in the Bundesliga this season and has previously received three H2H yellow cards – his joint-most against any side. Augsburg’s Phillip Tietz has a pair of second-half league goals to his name this term, including one in his last such away game. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: No side has conceded more Bundesliga goals in the opening 15 minutes ahead of this round than Augsburg’s seven. [/p]
