Le Havre Montpellier prediction 2024-11-03

Le Havre vs Montpellier prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-11-02 16:00.
[p]It would be hard to find a match across Europe this weekend with two teams lower on confidence than Le Havre and Montpellier. After a promising start, a run of six consecutive Ligue 1 losses has seen Le Havre’s season fall apart, and with his side failing to score in each of the last four of those defeats, boss Didier Digard may not see a way out of this crisis.[/p]

[p]It’s their worst top-flight losing run since a streak of seven in 2008/09, and the prospect of the goals flowing in this fixture appear bleak for the hosts as they’ve failed to score in three of their last four meetings with Montpellier (D3, L1). Some more unwanted history could be on the way then, as Le Havre could become the first Ligue 1 side since Toulouse in February 2020 to lose five consecutive games without scoring.[/p]

[p]Things appear even worse for Montpellier though, as they prop up the Ligue 1 table having conceded an eye-watering 29 goals after nine games. Rather unsurprisingly that’s the worst such figure in the division pre-round, and must be the first port of call for new boss Jean-Louis Gasset in his efforts to save them from relegation.[/p]

[p]His tenure started with a 3-0 defeat at home to Toulouse – a match which rather concerningly saw La Paillade reduced to ten men for the third time in four games. Keeping 11 men on the pitch could go some way to shoring up their defence, which can at least take heart from the fact that their most recent clean sheet on the road came in a 2-0 win against Le Havre back in March.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Abdoulaye TourĂ© has been Le Havre’s brightest attacking spark this season with three direct goal contributions (G2, A1) – eight of his last ten Ligue 1 strikes have come in the second half. Arnaud Nordin meanwhile netted twice for Montpellier last month at Reims, although none of his last five scoring appearances have seen him emerge victorious (D2, L3). [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only two of Le Havre’s last eight matches have seen both teams score. [/p]
