Nantes vs Marseille prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-11-02 19:45.
[p]Nantes went through both September and October without a Ligue 1 victory (D3, L3) and are now uncomfortably close to the bottom three. As they hope for better in November, optimism might be in short supply given they won just two of their last 14 league fixtures (D6, L6) and also haven’t won any of their last eight H2Hs against Marseille (D2, L6), their worst top-flight H2H run since failing to win nine between 1988 and 1992.[/p]
[p]Victories at Stade de la Beaujoire are becoming dangerously rare for Canaries supporters, as they’ve celebrated only one since beating Nice in early December 2023 (D2, L10) and haven’t beaten Marseille here in any of the last five H2Hs (D3, L2). As all five of those matches produced under 2.5 goals, November may not start with a high scoring thriller in Pays de la Loire.[/p]
[p]But Marseille might be happy about that after they were taken apart by leaders Paris Saint-Germain at home last weekend (L 3-0) to drop six points back from the Ligue 1 summit at the end of matchday nine. It was their heaviest defeat since Roberto De Zerbi took over as manager and he’ll expect a brave response after accusing his team of lacking courage during that loss.[/p]
[p]They spent most of that game with ten men on the field, which has been a common theme of late. In three of their last four Ligue 1 away games, a player was dismissed – one for Marseille, two for the opposition. As there was a red card in two of the last three H2Hs here as well (both for Nantes) referee Bastien Dechepy could be a busy man.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Nantes’ Bahereba Guirassy scored against Strasbourg last weekend (L 3-1) to register his second goal after the 80th minute across his last three appearances. Both of Elye Wahi’s goals for Marseille this season were away from home and he could be in the thick of the action with Guirassy after half-time, as five of his last seven goals arrived in the second half.[/p]
[p]Hot streak: Nantes haven’t won any of their last 11 Ligue 1 games played in November (D6, L5).[/p]
