Freiburg Mainz prediction 2024-11-03

Freiburg vs Mainz prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-11-02 14:30.
[p]Despite defeat away to high-flying RB Leipzig in their last league outing (3-1), Freiburg have made a steady start to Bundesliga life under manager Julian Schuster (W5, L3). They have two more points on the board than they had after eight rounds of last season and come into this gameweek fifth, but level on points with current champions Bayer Leverkusen in third. They also got back to winning ways in the DFB-Pokal in midweek, seeing off second-tier Hamburg 2-1. [/p]

[p]Like in midweek, it’s on home turf that Schuster has been managing to get the best from his side, with Freiburg winning three of their four home league games this season (L1), more than they managed in the final 13 home games under former manager Christian Streich. And no defeat in six H2Hs against opponents Mainz (W2, D4) – their longest unbeaten streak in this fixture – should further boost confidence that they can keep the good form rolling here. [/p]

[p]Mainz were also in cup action during midweek, though they had the daunting task of hosting a rampant Bayern Munich who ran out comfortable 4-0 winners. That means it’s just one win in five competitive outings now for the visitors (D1, L3) who start this round just four points clear of the relegation zone. [/p]

[p]Notably though, all four of those winless encounters came at home, when in fact Mainz have displayed an oddity of thriving on the road so far this season. Not only have seven of their nine league points come on their travels, but they’ve not actually lost a league away game in seven (W3, D4) and another positive result here would see the 05ers match a club record of eight undefeated away matches set in 2021. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Ritsu Dōan missed Freiburg’s midweek victory due to illness but should be back here. He grabbed his fourth league goal of the season last weekend, although just one has come on home turf so far. Having already missed a league game through suspension this season, Mainz’s Dominik Kohr picked up from where he left off against Bayern in midweek, collecting yellow card number seven of the season! [/p]

[p]Hot streak: Mainz are winless in each of their previous 13 games played on a Sunday (D7, L6).   [/p]
