Bayern Munich Benfica prediction 2024-11-06

Bayern Munich vs Benfica prediction: EUROPE: Champions League – League phase betting tips on match 2024-11-05 20:00.
[p]Bayern Munich have been through it all in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) so far, from the highs of a 9-2 win against Dinamo Zagreb on matchday one, to the pits of a 4-1 defeat to Barcelona on matchday three. Vincent Kompany’s side have at least responded well to that Barça defeat, posting three domestic wins in a row by an aggregate 12-0 scoreline since![/p]

[p]They should feel confident of keeping the good times rolling against Benfica as they’ve never lost in 12 H2Hs (W9, D3) – the most one side has ever faced another in major European competition without losing. There’s every expectation that the win column will reach double figures here, as Bayern have won the last six home H2Hs with Portuguese opposition, scoring a whopping 25 goals in the process. [/p]

[p]While history would suggest this will be a one-sided affair, the fact Benfica come into this matchday above Bayern in the table suggests they shouldn’t be written off. They too have posted three successive domestic wins since a matchday three defeat, and although theirs didn’t come by the 12-0 Bayern managed, a 10-1 aggregate scoreline still sounds them out as a danger to the German side. [/p]

[p]Building on their winning run in Munich is likely to be a tall order for Benfica, who have only ever won twice away to German opposition (D7, L18). But perhaps all hope isn’t lost for the Portuguese side, who have incredibly lost only two of their last 14 UCL away games including qualifiers (W8, D4), with nine of those games seeing them net at least twice. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: A Kingsley Coman goal could see Bayern walk to a healthy win, as his four goalscoring appearances this season saw his side win by a 3+ goal margin. If Benfica’s Zeki Amdouni, signed by Kompany for Burnley last season, is to make an impact, it could be a late one as all three of his club goals this season arrived after the 75th minute. [/p]

[p]Hot streak: Benfica’s last six UCL games all produced at least three total goals. [/p]
