Genoa Como prediction 2024-11-07

Genoa vs Como prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-11-06 19:45.
[p]Thursday night’s Serie A action sees a battle between two of the division’s early strugglers, one of whom is Genoa, who got their first win in nine league games last time out against Parma, and just their second of the campaign. Teetering just a point above the relegation zone, both of the Griffin’s victories to date this term came by a 1-0 scoreline, with those two games the only ones that have seen them record a clean sheet.[/p]

[p]As you might expect given their lowly league position, Alberto Gilardino’s side have found goals of their own hard to come by, with only Lecce netting fewer than the eight they’ve managed. Failing to score in five of their first 11 league games this season (W2, D3, L6), Genoa have netted just twice in the first half, so don’t expect a quick start from them here.[/p]

[p]Visitors Como are above their opponents in the league table, but only by virtue of goal difference. Serie A’s new boys have also found points hard to come by and have an identical record to Genoa ahead of this clash (W2, D3, L6). Having been beaten 1-0 at Empoli on Monday evening, Cesc Fàbregas’ side have now lost three games in a row and are without a win in five (D1, L4).[/p]

[p]Monday’s defeat saw Como, who are still yet to record a clean sheet this season, extend an unwanted record of having conceded first in every away game since their promotion (7). With just four points earned on their travels to date (W1, D1, L5), it’s evident that dismal run needs to end quickly if they are to avoid relegation this term, and ensure their stay among Italy’s elite isn’t a short one.[/p]

[p]Key battle: Johan Vásquez has picked up three bookings in Serie A, including one in each of Genoa’s last two games – all three yellow cards came after the 75th minute. Matthias Braunöder returns from suspension for Como having been sent off in his last appearance – he’s averaged 2.9 fouls per game in the league this term.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Of the 21 goals Genoa have conceded in Serie A this season, 16 have come in the second half.[/p]
