Strasbourg Monaco prediction 2024-11-09

Strasbourg vs Monaco prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-11-08 16:00.
[p]Strasbourg have recently been alternating between encouraging results on home soil and humiliating reality checks on the road, which consequently sees them yo-yoing in mid-table. Failing to score away to newly-promoted Saint-Étienne in the last round must be of concern for boss Liam Rosenior as he now has to work out how to get past one of the best defences in the league.[/p]

[p]The hosts are still one of few teams undefeated at home (W3, D2) and already have some impressive scalps to their name, defeating title challengers Marseille (1-0) and drawing with European hopefuls Lens (2-2) across their last three Ligue 1 home outings. So despite last week’s aberration in Saint-Étienne, which was the first time all term they were held scoreless in a league game, they’ll likely be approaching this contest with no fear.[/p]

[p]After they topped the standings during the October international break with 19 of a possible 21 points contested, Monaco also lost to one of the three newly-promoted clubs last week. Dropping three points away to an in-form Nice (2-1) was nothing to stress about, but a 1-0 defeat at home to Angers indeed sparked a lot of anger from Monaco manager Adi Hütter, who blasted his players for being “disorganised, slow and without ideas”. [/p]

[p]At the same time, he stressed one bad week doesn’t define a season and was confident his defence, which has conceded a joint-league low seven Ligue 1 goals ahead of the round, will continue to be strong. Whilst Hütter is comparatively new to the Monaco setup, those players with a longer tenure will be able to draw inspiration from their two away victories at Strasbourg across the previous two seasons, both by single-goal margins. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Strasbourg winger Dilane Bakwa opened his account for the season two rounds back and his last four goals for the club have all come at home. Eliesse Ben Seghir is still searching for his third strike of Monaco’s season and could be inspired by these surroundings as the only scorer of the corresponding fixture in 2023/24.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: The pre-match favourite won only three of Strasbourg’s ten matches this Ligue 1 season (D4, L3). [/p]
