Villarreal Alaves prediction 2024-11-09

Villarreal vs Alaves prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-11-08 15:15.
[p]La Liga action comes thick and fast as surprise top-four occupants ahead of the matchday, Villarreal, square off against an AlavĂ©s side in need of points to remain above the bottom three. Having lost only one home game this season – to league leaders Barcelona no less – Marcelino’s home side are flying high in their bid for a first top four La Liga finish since back in 2015/16. [/p]

[p]The Yellow Submarine sit in fourth spot ahead of the weekend, despite having played a game less than those immediately below them due to the effects of storm Dana, demonstrating the incredible season they are currently having. Despite scoring a ruthless five first-half goals in a 6-1 routing of Poblense last time out in the cup, it’s been their ability to score late winners that has really caught the eye – five of their league wins so far have come via winners on or after the 84th minute!   [/p]

[p]The hosts form will come as a huge worry to an Alavés side who have lost all but one of their La Liga away matches this season (W1), and even their close-fought 1-0 Copa del Rey win over minnows Compostela in their last away game will do little to inspire confidence. They did overcome Mallorca 1-0 at home last time out however, and therefore arrive at La Cerámica having at least broken a five-game losing league streak with that result.[/p]

[p]But with that losing run their worst in La Liga since 2021/22 – a season they ended up relegated – some might suspect that trouble is only around the corner. Some visiting fans will point to the fact that Luis GarcĂa’s side sit one point better off than at this stage last season though, and have lost only one of their last five H2Hs against Villarreal (W2, D2).   [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Villarreal’s Ayoze PĂ©rez is having a terrific time, following up a late winner in Villarreal’s last La Liga outing – his fourth such league goal of the season – with a hat-trick in his side’s Copa del Rey demolition. Watch out for Jon Guridi in this one, as he  scored his side’s only goal in their last 1-0 league triumph, and grabbed an assist the last time AlavĂ©s visited!  [/p]

[p]Hot streak: Both teams have scored in the last 11 H2H meetings! [/p]
