Rennes Toulouse prediction 2024-11-10

Rennes vs Toulouse prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-11-09 16:00.
[p]Following a humiliating 4-0 defeat against newly-promoted Auxerre, Rennes boss Julien StĂ©phan could only apologise to the travelling faithful for a “shameful” performance. The club board decided to act following that result and sacked StĂ©phan during the week, with Jorge Sampaoli rumoured to be taking over. Whoever does eventually take on the role will have a big job on their hands, as Rennes’ faltering league form sees them enter this weekend just one point above the bottom three (W3, D2, L5).[/p]

[p]Returning to Roazhon Park could be conducive to a resurgent Rennes showing as only Monaco have defeated them here so far this season (W3, D1, L1). Even so, respectable home form hasn’t been enough to save Rennes from what is their lowest points haul at this stage of a top-flight campaign since 2017/18, a return which could yet take another hit against Toulouse, one of the six Ligue 1 sides to win away to Rennes last season.[/p]

[p]Sitting just one point above their hosts, Toulouse arrive here having picked up the same or a higher amount of points than at the same stage of their last three top-flight campaigns. It should be noted that one of those campaigns did end in relegation back in 2019/20 and Toulouse have a lot of work to do to secure another season in Ligue 1, although back-to-back wins ‘to nil’ ahead of this should serve to boost hopes of an upset. [/p]

[p]Overcoming the odds is not something that has come easily for Toulouse so far this season, although the fact that they won a joint league-high seven times as pre-match outsiders last season suggests they have what it takes to spring an upset. Playing away shouldn’t discourage Toulouse in that regard either, as the visitors travel here on the back of a 3-0 away win, one which was their fifth across their last eight trips (D1, L2). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Ludovic Blas’ last two goals for Rennes were team openers at home within 30 minutes – his three personal goals against Toulouse is a joint-second career best. Simply unplayable in recent weeks, Zakaria Aboukhlal has contributed to five of Toulouse’s last six goals, including each of the last four (G4, A1).[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Toulouse are the only remaining side in Ligue 1 yet to score in both halves of a game this season. [/p]
