Montenegro Iceland prediction 2024-11-16

Montenegro vs Iceland prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League B betting tips on match 2024-11-15 17:00.
[p]Going into this latest round of fixtures, Montenegro are one of eight countries across the entire UEFA Nations League (UNL) to have lost all of their games during the campaign so far, with Robert Prosinečkiā€™s side having scored just one goal in the process. As youā€™d expect given that dismal record, they can no longer even dream of promotion from Group B4, with the grim prospect of relegation to League C almost a reality, as another failure to win on Saturday evening will mean that their demotion is confirmed.[/p]

[p]Now on a run of six straight international defeats, Montenegroā€™s best hope is a third-placed finish, which would see them thrust into the relegation play-offs. Even that seems unlikely though, despite the fact that the Balkan outfit havenā€™t conceded 3+ goals in any of their four UNL losses so far this campaign. The Brave Falconsā€™ only two victories under Prosinečki to date were also both accompanied by clean sheets, so a shutout looks to be crucial to any chance of success here.[/p]

[p]Opponents Iceland won the reverse fixture back in September (2-0), but that remains their only win in this UNL campaign, as they have taken just a single point from the three matches which have followed (D1, L2). Consequently, with just two games left in the group stage, ƅge Hareideā€™s side face an uphill battle to come second, with a third-placed finish and involvement in the relegation play-offs the more likely outcome.Ā [/p]

[p]Three points could see Iceland remain in contention for second place, dependent on Walesā€™ result in Turkey. Just like for Montenegro though, it appears that a clean sheet could be key for the visitors here, with seven of the Nordic nationā€™s last eight wins all coming ā€˜to nilā€™, while the other victory in that sequence saw them concede only once.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Igor Nikić made 12 saves across Montenegroā€™s two games in October (L2) and has the highest save percentage of any goalkeeper in League B of the UNL. Opposite number HĆ”kon Valdimarsson has made 4+ saves in all four of his matches in the competition during his international career, including in September’s reverse fixture.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Four of Icelandā€™s last five games have seen 4+ goals scored.[/p]
