Malta Andorra prediction 2024-11-19

Malta vs Andorra prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League D betting tips on match 2024-11-18 19:45.
[p]With everything already settled in UEFA Nations League (UNL) Group D2 ahead of this final match, there’s little but pride to play for both Malta and Andorra at National Stadium, Ta’ Qali on the Mediterranean island. It’s the hosts who enter this finale sat higher in the table, taking six points from their three matches to date but having lost the head-to-head battle with group leaders Moldova by virtue of just a single goal, they can now only finish in second spot. [/p]

[p]Motivation will instead be found as Malta enter this contest having won each of their last three internationals without conceding a goal in the process, courtesy of a 2-0 friendly win over Liechtenstein last time out. Now, they’ll look to register four consecutive victories for the first time since 1957 when they played Austria in their first ever international match, as well as further extending their unbeaten form in this H2H fixture (W2, D3). [/p]

[p]As for visiting Andorra, they were defeated in heartbreaking fashion by Moldova over the weekend, losing 1-0 thanks to a 92nd minute strike from their opposition. That in turn means that they’ve now failed to win any of their last 14 competitive internationals matches (D3, L11), a run which dates all the way back to a 2-0 success over fellow minnows Liechtenstein back in September 2022.  [/p]

[p]A 2-0 friendly win over San Marino in October at least means that the away side have tasted victory relatively recently, but a return to the road here brings its own challenges for Andorra. That’s because the Tricolours have failed to win any of their last 11 internationals on the road (D1, L10), failing to score in any of their last eight such outings in succession! [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Teddy Teuma could be classed as Malta’s most likely goalscorer here, as he struck their last UNL goal back in October whilst his last three international goals have all been second-half penalties. Andorra’s Berto Rosas struck in their 2-0 win over San Marino in October, taking his international tally to five goals in 19 matches to move him into joint-second spot on his nation’s all-time scoring list already. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: None of Malta’s last five, or Andorra’s last eight internationals have seen both sides score.  [/p]
