Aston Villa Juventus prediction 2024-11-27

Aston Villa vs Juventus prediction: EUROPE: Champions League – League phase betting tips on match 2024-11-26 20:00.
[p]After three wins from their opening three UEFA Champions League (UCL) games in the league phase, Aston Villa were brought crashing down to earth with a 1-0 defeat to Club Brugge on matchday four. That result forms part of an ongoing six-match winless run for Villa (D2, L4), who laboured to a 2-2 home draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday, although things could’ve been much worse as they trailed twice in that game. [/p]

[p]Ending that run against European giants Juventus will be a tall order, but Unai Emery’s men can take heart from the fact they’ve won seven of their last eight home matches in major European competitions (L1). They’ve already beaten one European giant at Villa Park this season (1-0 v Bayern Munich) and having won their last three home games against Italian opposition, they might feel confident of toppling Juve. [/p]

[p]All three of those wins came ‘to nil’, and in fact, the last Italian team to score at Villa Park was Juventus themselves all the way back in 1983! Juve won 2-1 that day, but success on English soil has been limited for the Old Lady, who have won only three of their last 15 away matches against English sides in European competition (D3, L9). [/p]

[p]Improving upon that run certainly won’t be easy for a side who have won just one of their last seven UCL away matches (D2, L4). That rings especially true here as they face off once again against Emery, who has already beaten Juve whilst in charge of two different clubs – no manager has ever beaten Juventus with three different clubs in the history of this competition. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Villa’s Ross Barkley was on target at the weekend, but Villa might be secretly hoping he isn’t again as none of his last seven scoring club appearances have ended in victory (D3, L4)! Midfield rival Weston McKennie has scored five of his last seven club goals with his head, with four of those five arriving before the hour mark.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: None of Villa’s last five games against Italian opposition saw both teams score. [/p]
