Mallorca Girona prediction 2024-12-14

Mallorca vs Girona prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-12-13 15:15.
[p]After back-to-back defeats against Barcelona and Celta Vigo, Mallorca begin this gameweek in eighth place and will be keen to return to winning ways when they host Girona on Saturday. This has been a fixture which the Pirates have had plenty of success in, losing only once in their eight H2Hs at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix (W5, D2), a run which includes two victories already this year – a Copa del Rey quarter-final in January and a La Liga clash in March![/p]

[p]But with no clean sheets and four losses from their last six (W2), Jagoba Arrasate’s side are enduring a tough period at the moment. This form contrasts unfavourably with their start to the campaign when they were beaten only three times in 11 games (W5, D3), while Mallorca also come into this weekend’s fixture after experiencing their heaviest home defeat since May 2022 earlier this month against Barça.[/p]

[p]Girona are another side who have lost their way over recent weeks, with Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League home defeat to Liverpool meaning that they have kept just one clean sheet while not winning any of their last five matches (D1, L4) in all competitions. The White and Reds’ away league form has also been uninspiring this season, as they have picked up only two victories from eight such games (D3, L3).[/p]

[p]In their defence, Míchel’s men have had a tough run of fixtures, facing Real Madrid and Villareal in their last two La Liga matches, and they did win their three previous league games. They come into this round in ninth position, and while emulating last season’s third-placed finish already looks out of reach, a top-six spot and another European campaign are certainly very achievable.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Striker Cyle Larin has won all three of his home meetings with Girona, contributing to a goal in each of the last two (G1, A1). Winger Bryan Gil has not had a quiet away match for a while, having appeared in five of Girona’s last six games on the road and either scoring, providing an assist or being booked in each![/p]

[p]Hot stat: Girona have not scored a first-half goal in any of their last five matches across all competitions.[/p]
