Crystal Palace Arsenal prediction 2024-12-21

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-12-20 17:30.
[p]After the sides met in an EFL Cup quarter-final on Wednesday night, Crystal Palace and Arsenal clash again on Saturday, this time in the Premier League. Palace were on the end of a 3-2 defeat at the Emirates Stadium despite opening the scoring, leaving boss Oliver Glasner frustrated that his side showed Arsenal “too much respect”. Perhaps that stemmed from a miserable recent H2H record, as the Eagles have also lost four successive league meetings with the Gunners.[/p]

[p]Ending that run on home soil, where Palace have won just once in the Premier League all season (D4, L3), appears tricky. Glasner’s men are improving though, losing just one of their last eight league outings (W3, D4) to move four points clear of the relegation zone pre-round, and after an extremely impressive 3-1 win at Brighton last week, Palace are chasing their first set of back-to-back league wins since May.[/p]

[p]Arsenal were left frustrated by a goalless draw against Everton last week, leaving them six points adrift of the Premier League summit having played a game more than leaders Liverpool. The margin for error is now slim for Mikel Arteta’s men, who’ve struggled on the road lately, winning just once in their last six away league matches (D3, L2).[/p]

[p]That’s in no small part down to conceding in each of those fixtures, making this their longest run without an away clean sheet in the league in five years. The Gunners faithful travelling across the city are likely to retain confidence as they’re yet to lose a Premier League London derby in 2024 (W7, D2), and could become the first side to do so for a full calendar year since Chelsea back in 2005![/p]

[p]Players to watch: An Arsenal academy product, Eddie Nketiah switched the Emirates for Selhurst Park in the summer, but is yet to score in the Premier League in 11 appearances for the Eagles. He did find the net on Wednesday against his former side, but it was Gabriel Jesus who stole the headlines with a sensational hat-trick, adding to the Brazilian’s dominant personal H2H record (W10, D2, L2).[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Palace have alternated between wins (three) and losses (four) in their last seven Premier League London derbies at home – losing their last one 2-0 to Fulham.[/p]
