Eintracht Frankfurt vs Mainz prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-12-20 14:30.
[p]Eintracht Frankfurtâs 2-1 loss to RB Leipzig on Sunday saw them fail to regain second spot in the Bundesliga standings as they couldnât take advantage of leaders Bayern Munich losing by the same scoreline to Frankfurtâs next opponents Mainz the previous day. As the final league game before the winter break looms, itâs been a forgettable few weeks for Dino Toppmöllerâs side, as theyâre now winless across their last four outings in all competitions (D1, L3).[/p]
[p]If theyâre looking to give their fans something to celebrate over the festive period, protecting their unbeaten streak at home this season would be a nice gift (W7, D3). And although Mainzâs danger is evident given last weekendâs result, the Eagles have soared to great heights against them previously, as they havenât lost in the last eight H2Hs at any venue (W4, D4), including winning the last three meetings at their Deutsche Bank Park fortress âto nilâ.[/p]
[p]Mainz will be in no mood to let recent history dictate proceedings, as having just inflicted a first league defeat of the season on Bayern, theyâve now won four of their last five games (L1). Consequently, theyâre mounting a serious push for a European qualification place and start the weekend sitting seventh, some 13 points better off than they were after matchday 14 last term![/p]
[p]Not since 2010/11 have they accumulated more points at this stage of a campaign (30 then compared to 22 now), which was coincidentally the last season in which they played here on matchday 15 (L 2-1)! And despite losing their last league away fixture (4-3 v Wolfsburg), that was their first defeat on the road in the Bundesliga since early March (W4, D5), so they can justifiably expect to travel well.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Ansgar Knauff has scored once, assisted once and picked up a booking across his last three appearances for Frankfurt, while Dominik Kohr, who Mainz signed permanently from Frankfurt in 2022, has collected three yellow cards in his last five Bundesliga outings.[/p]
[p]Hot streak: Frankfurt remain the only team yet to trail a Bundesliga game at half-time this term (HT: W8, D6).[/p]
