Celta Vigo Real Sociedad prediction 2024-12-21

Celta Vigo vs Real Sociedad prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-12-20 15:15.
[p]A Celta Vigo team rooted in mid-table prepare to face one of their least favourite opponents in Real Sociedad – a team who they have lost six straight home H2Hs against. In fact, Claudio GirĂĄldez’s Sky Blues have only won one of the last ten meetings on home soil (D2, L7), and only against La Liga’s current top-four have they lost more league home encounters in their history![/p]

[p]That run included a pair of defeats across league and cup at Balaídos in January, and if they’re to end the year in a more positive fashion against their bogey opponents, they’ll have to recover quickly from a 1-0 defeat at Sevilla last time out. Celta’s boss described that loss as ‘’unfair’’ given that his team had the majority of possession and failed to score despite accumulating over one xG, with that defeat leaving them with just one win from their last five La Liga outings (D2, L2).[/p]

[p]Things are rather different for Real Sociedad, whose upturn in league form since the start of November has propelled them from the bottom-half of the table to within a point of the top-six (W4, D1, L1). That means despite being held to a dour goalless draw by Las Palmas last time out, the feelings are positive with boss Imanol Alguacil satisfied by an eighth clean sheet from their last nine games across all competitions.[/p]

[p]Their defence shines brightly on their travels, with Sociedad having conceded just two league goals away from home – the best such record in the division! Their four road wins in La Liga this season is a total bettered only by Barcelona (seven), but the measly seven goals they’ve scored from their eight away games this term suggests a goal-fest is highly unlikely here.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Only Barça duo Lamine Yamal (nine) and Raphinha (six) have more assists than Celta defender Óscar Mingueza’s five coming into the matchday – the defender also scored on Sociedad soil last term! The visitors’ Mikel Oyarzabal has struck in three of his side’s last four league away outings, which all ended in wins for his side. [/p]

[p]Hot streak: Real Sociedad haven’t conceded a second-half league away goal from open play since March (W7, D3, L3). [/p]
