Union Berlin Augsburg prediction 2025-01-15

Union Berlin vs Augsburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-01-14 19:30.
[p]Union Berlin were beaten again last weekend, losing out 2-0 away at Heidenheim in Steffen Baumgart’s first game in charge as their run extended to ten matches without a win in all competitions (D3, L7). Nine of those encounters in that sequence came in the Bundesliga, and as the worst-performing side in the division over the last five rounds (D1, L4), it comes as no surprise to see them sliding towards the bottom three.[/p]

[p]Tasked with avoiding the drop, new boss Baumgart has inherited a team that has conceded just 21 goals in the league this season, although seventeen of those have come in this dismal run. At the other end, only two sides have scored fewer than their 14 goals, while Union have drawn a blank six times in the Bundesliga already this term, which is among the worst tallies in the league.[/p]

[p]Augsburg visit the Stadion An der Alten Försterei without a win in four league games (D1, L3), with the pressure mounting on head coach Jess Thorup. Sitting a point and a place below opponents Union having failed to score in four of their last seven Bundesliga outings, they too have been left looking over their shoulders at the bottom three in recent weeks, with their 14-year top-flight stay at risk of coming to an end.[/p]

[p]Thorup’s men remain one of just four sides in the Bundesliga without an away win this season, having picked up only two points on the road (D2, L5). That terrible form explains why they have conceded double the number of goals on their travels (22) as they have at home to date in the league this term (11), with Augsburg having found themselves behind at half-time in four of their seven such away games, going on to lose all four.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Rani Khedira returns from suspension for Union having received three of his five yellow cards so far this season after the 60th minute, while four of Jeffrey Gouweleeuw’s six bookings so far this term have come after the 70th minute.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Five of the last seven H2Hs hosted by Union ended level.[/p]
