Heidenheim St. Pauli prediction 2025-01-18

Heidenheim vs St. Pauli prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-01-17 14:30.
[p]Heidenheim and St. Pauli both started the 2024/25 Bundesliga amongst the favourites to be relegated and have lived up to those expectations so far. The home side made an impressive start to the new calendar year as one of six clubs to take points from each of the first two Bundesliga rounds of 2025, even scoring three equalisers to draw away to Werder Bremen despite losing Niklas Dorsch to injury in the opening ten minutes. [/p]

[p]The other was a 2-0 victory over Union Berlin that ended a six-game winless run at home in this competition (D1, L5), the majority of which were against contenders for the six European placings. That result should therefore inject them with plenty of confidence to get the better of a lower ranked opponent, especially as they already hold the psychological advantage of winning 2-0 away to St. Pauli on the opening matchday. [/p]

[p]Sat in 14th ahead of the round, St. Pauli are ahead of Heidenheim in the standings by virtue of goal difference but went into this week as one of only three sides to register yet to score or register a point in the first two match days of the new year, losing 1-0 to both Frankfurt (home) and Bochum (away). That has been the story of their season so far, with a league-high 59% of their games seeing them fail to score, thwarting the efforts of one of the Bundesliga’s tightest defences. [/p]

[p]Their six Bundesliga away trips against other clubs starting this round in the bottom half returned only one clean sheet and five losses (W1), which isn’t an encouraging prospect against an in-form side jostling with them for survival. But the manner of those defeats has been anything but embarrassing: Alexander Blessin’s side did not concede more than two goals in any of their last seven Bundesliga away games, making it all the more remarkable that they all had a winner (W3, L4)! [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Jan Schöppner recorded his third Bundesliga goal of the season last round, a tally that started with his late goal against St. Pauli. The visitors need Johannes Eggestein to continue his recent goalscoring form, not least because they won all three of his competitive scoring appearances this season. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Eight of St. Pauli’s last ten Bundesliga games witnessed under 2.5 total goals. [/p]
