Nottingham vs Brighton prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2025-01-31 12:30.
[p]It’s been a fairytale season so far for Nottingham Forest, who for most of the season have resided in the top four and were even Liverpool’s closest challengers at one point. They were given a rude awakening last weekend though when they went down 5-0 against Bournemouth, which handed them their first league defeat since early December and prompted boss Nuno EspĂrito Santo to describe the result as “a warning for everybody”.[/p]
[p]Whether his side heed that warning remains to be seen, and bouncing back against a Brighton side they’ve beaten just twice across the last nine H2Hs is far from a foregone conclusion (D2, L5). Both of those wins did at least come at the City Ground, where Forest have won six of their last eight league games (D1, L1), but with Nuno drawing five of his last seven personal managerial H2Hs against Brighton (W1, L1), another win might be hard to find. [/p]
[p]Like their hosts, Brighton come into this clash on the back of their first league defeat of 2025, disappointingly falling 1-0 at home to relegation-threatened Everton last weekend. It’s worth noting though that before that defeat they’d won three games in a row on the road across all competitions, so an away game could be the perfect tonic for Fabian Hürzeler’s side to get their European push back on track.[/p]
[p]The Seagulls actually haven’t tasted defeat on the road since early December (W3, D3), and considering four of those games produced exactly four goals, they’re often great entertainers. Brighton tend to be particularly active soon after half-time on the road too, scoring a league-high seven Premier League away goals in the 15 minutes immediately after the restart. [/p]
[p]Key battle: Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels has been busy of late, making exactly six saves in three of his last four Premier League appearances. Bidding to beat him, Georginio Rutter has scored in Brighton’s last three away games, the last two of which arrived after the 75th minute. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Nottingham Forest have conceded nine of their ten home league goals this season after half-time.[/p]
